Is hydrogen safe:
Like most fuels, hydrogen has a high energy content and must
be handled properly to be safe. In general, hydrogen is neither more
nor less hazardous than gasoline, propane, or methane.
Hydrogen has been safely produced, stored, transported, and used in large
amounts in industry by following standard practices that have been
established in the past 50 years. These practices can be adapted for
non-industrial uses of hydrogen to with the same level of safety.
Health and Environmental Hydrogen Facts:
Hydrogen is non-toxic, and will not contribute to groundwater
pollution.Hydrogen does not create fumes.
Using hydrogen in fuel cells produces only electricity and
pure water.
Using hydrogen in common combustion engines run more
efficiently and reduce air pollution compared to using
fossil fuels.
